Cooper's (Thornless Argentine) Mesquite is an excellent desert shade tree characterized by its wide canopy and lack of thorns. Fast growing both with and without water, there is no need to baby this tree. Branches should withstand wind and not break very readily. Will make the typical mess that a mesquite will make, so place appropriately so that clean-up doesn’t ruin your enjoyment.
