One of the hardiest, most adaptable plants available for our desert climate. They come in a wide range of sizes and colors and are known for their flat, paddle-like pads. Many may look harmless, but feature tiny, hair-like spines called glochids that readily adhere to skin. Will tolerate all kinds of conditions including reflected heat. No xeriscape design is complete without at least one prickly pear species.
