Buxus microphylla 'japonica'

Japanese Boxwood

Their dense growth habit and tight small leaf structure makes them easy to shape, and will hold a shape for a long time once trimmed. They can take quite a bit of sun but they will not do well if planted in and amongst gravel, sidewalks, or other hardscape. If allowed to grow free they make a beautiful natural barrier plant.

  • Wonderful option for formal hedges
  • Cream blooms in the spring
  • Does not handle radiant heat well
  • Height: 3-5 ft
