For nearly year-round color that can take the heat and attracts hummingbirds, this is the plant! After flowering, a few long, narrow, tan seed pods persist on the plant. It may be cut back as needed to remove frosted foliage and to generate fresh new growth. In low desert situations it may not even go dormant.
