A palm in name only, it is actually a succulent shrub. With its shiny silver trunk covered in cactus-like thorns and tuft of leaves at the top, it is a true exotic. Large white flowers with yellow centers add to the drama. It will require mostly shade in our climate and can even work indoors if provided adequate lighting. Water regularly when leaves are present and not at all when dormant. Like a fast draining soil.
